Bread had 11 songs that charted on the Adult Contemporary chart between 1970 to 1977, with four reaching #1. Although their 1969 debut was a commercial failure so they returned to the studio a year later for a second attempt to make a hit record. The album, “On The Waters” would go on to achieve Gold status and just a few years later, their greatest hits compilation, “The Best of Bread,” sold an impressive five million copies.
