In 2005, theaters were packed with action and adventure found in series like Star Wars, Harry Potter and King Kong, but on TV a different kind of format was becoming popular: the mockumentary. A certain sitcom met with mixed reviews at first but went on to air eight more seasons winning a ton of awards. An estimated 5.6 million viewers tuned in for the final episode in 2013. Rolling Stone called it one the greatest shows of all time. Can you guess the show? Take a listen to the show below for the answer.
Song Spotlight
Howie Day grew up Bangor, Maine and first took hold of a guitar at age 14 and two years later, he was touring full-time and eventually opening for the likes Sting, Jack Johnson, and Sheryl Crow. By 2000, Howie had amassed enough original material to release his debut album which is financed himself. Fortunately, it was good enough to get the attention at Sony Records who released his second album Stop All the World Now. And thanks to features on TV shows such as Scrubs, One Tree Hill, and Third Watch, the 3rd single from the album became his most popular. Spending 58 weeks on the charts and eventually hitting a peak of #7, this week, it’s moving up the charts to #18: Collide.
