After scoring a hit with his 1962 song “Let’s Dance,” Chris Montez spent three years touring with music legends like Sam Cooke, The Platters, and Smokey Robinson. In 1965, he signed with A&M Records and during one of his early recording sessions, co-founder Herb Alpert suggested he try a softer sound. Though initially reluctant, Chris agreed and the result was his first of many hits, reaching #2 on the Adult Contemporary chart. Your Love Song of the Day is “Call Me.”
